Competition for Creating Short Opinions and Infographics in Balinese
Competition’s topic question:
How can we detoxify the “toxicity” of overtourism in Bali?
Competition length: February 18 — March 21, 2025
The Public Participation Wikithon–Wisya Wisata is a way to put into action a dynamic public participation method. This event follows up on the Bali Youth Conference, aiming to create policies based on the key issues agreed upon during the conference. These policies can range from village-level regulations (both traditional and official) to provincial-level rules like governor’s regulations or regional laws.
BASAbali Wiki, together with the community, is committed to ensuring that this public participation method is carried out seriously and effectively for the well-being of Bali and to uphold its values.

Competition Terms and Conditions:
- This competition is free of charge, with no entry fees required.
- Participants may enter as individuals or teams, with a maximum of three (3) members per team.
- All submissions must be uploaded to the BASAbali Wiki website.
Submission Requirements:
- Submissions must be a brief opinion piece consisting of 80 to 150 words, written in Balinese (preferably in everyday conversational Balinese) and must be free from plagiarism.
- Entries should be engaging, creative, and informative, and must effectively address the Wikithon question.
- Submissions must include relevant data or factual references, which may be obtained from direct observations, news sources, social media, or other publicly accessible online sources.
- Entries must not contain elements of ethnic, religious, racial, or intergroup discrimination (SARA), pornography, political propaganda, or any content that violates the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE).
- Each participant or team is permitted to submit only one (1) entry.

- Creativity
- Strength of the conveyed message
- Relevance (alignment with the designated topic)
- Submissions must not be entered in any other competition.

Title for your work—make it as unique and creative as possible in three languages (Balinese, Indonesian, and English).
Upload your short opinion piece in Balinese in the Balinese language field. The Indonesian and English fields are optional.
To add a cover image, upload a representative image that you have permission to use in the “Image” field. Please do not upload personal photos or images containing your identity. You are allowed to use AI-generated images.
For the infographic competition, upload your work in the “Image” field—it will automatically be used as the cover.
Select the participant category you wish to join in the “Category” field.
Fill in your personal details, including your affiliation (organization, community, school, institution, etc.), gender, and age.
Note: In accordance with the privacy policy, BASAbali Wiki does not require participants to include their real names in their Wikithon entries to protect their identity. Winners will be announced using their username. So, make sure you remember your username at all times.

Winners in this category are chosen based on the number of votes received on the BASAbali Wiki website during the voting period. Voting opens once participants upload their work. Total Prize: Rp250,000 (Rp125,000 each)
Anyone can leave comments in Balinese on the Wikithon Public Participation – Bali Lestari competition entries. The two most interesting and inspiring comments will win Rp125,000 each.
Judges
The judging will be conducted by a panel of qualified judges. The judges’ decisions are final and cannot be contested.
