Our programs aim to encourage people to speak, value and sustain Balinese, now and for future generations.
Our two keynote programs are:
- a program that provides modern, multimedia materials for conversational Balinese and Balinese script to middle schools in Bali and
- a “Banjar Project” which involves middle and high school students in strengthening Balinese by making them part of the Balinese-English-Indonesian “living” wiki dictionary. The students take videos of their elders and young children in their communities to add examples of real life word usage to the dictionary, at the same time learning important technology skills and bridging generations.
